Our Story

Taking its name from the intricate 16th century lace shawls of Kashmir, Jamavar is an original fine dining concept, created by the founding family of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts in India.

In 2001, Dinesh Nair conceptualised the very first Jamavar restaurant at The Leela Palace Bengalaru, where it won considerable critical and international acclaim; among other accolades, it was named among the World’s Top 10 Power Dining Spots by Forbes USA. Over the following years, further restaurants opened in five more cities across India.

In 2016, Jamavar’s first international outpost in London was opened by LSL Capital, a hospitality venture focused on creating bespoke culinary experiences by father-daughter duo Dinesh and Samyukta Nair, on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street.

Today, Jamavar London is deeply embedded in the culinary fabric of the city and is known as one of the best Indian restaurants in the capital, earning a star in The Great Britain and Ireland Michelin Guide 2022. Thereafter, Jamavar Doha opened its doors in 2021, within the five-star Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, in association with Katara Hospitality.

The Nairs have spent decades refining the art of luxury hospitality, and Jamavar is the culmination of those efforts: an international collection of fine dining Indian restaurants, renowned for its decadent and luxurious pan-Indian cuisine.
