Restaurant Mayfair Alphonso Mango Season

This May, Jamavar will be celebrating India’s Alphonso mango season, a fruit that has earn’t itself a hallowed spot on our culinary calendar for its perfect sweet flavour that is sure to please any palate.

Available throughout May when Alphonso mangoes are at their ripest, Culinary Director &Executive Chef Surender Mohan has developed a menu that champions the fleeting joy of the much-adored fruit, in Jamavar’s signature Pan-Indian style.

Join us as we feast on our Chandni Chowk Ki Aloo Tikki, with a tart twist of raw mango before choosing the likes of marinaded Kasundi Paneer Tikka paired with mango three ways or whole Tellicherry Pepper and Garlic Soft Shell Crab with a sharpand spicy homemade mango chilli chutney and crisp garlic chips.

Looking to The Nair family archives, main dishes include a choice between south-Indian family favourites like Meen Manga Curry with tender sea bass and raw mango cooked with fenugreek and Kerala spiced coconut milk; and Manga Puliserry, a curry made from Alphonso, coconut and yogurt with tempered mustard and chilli.

Indulge in a Burnt Mango Tart paired with fresh Alphonso salsa and mango sorbet for dessert but not to be missed is our very own Ginger Mango Mule.

If you’ve tried Alphonso mangoes before then you’ll know just why we’re so excited it’s in season and if you haven’t then you’re in for a culinary treat that we can’t wait to share with you.

Jamavar’s Alphonso mango dishes will be available throughout May.
